If you are discovering my web presence for the first time, it’s really not surprising. My old website was hidden in a very dark and extremely dusty corner of the Internet, hiding its face from the world and pretending it wasn’t there. To a great extent, it might as well not have been there because it generated little traffic and seemed airly pointless.

And then I realised that I had published a new and, for me, very important book – A Glass Darkly – my first shot at memoir writing. And it seemed to me that hiding my light under a bushel really didn’t reflect the value of what I was doing … well, certainly not for me. You will need to make your own mind up. And so, at the same time, I became interested in AI-generated websites. I have a great reason for wanting to look into these – the company of which I am still part owner and a director, is a digital marketing agency. Testing out the latest technology on something real was going to be a challenge. That’s because I am not in any sense a website developer. However, I didn’t need to be one.

AI cleverly built an initial structure for the site and I set about modifying it, with AI commands as well as by getting my fingers dirty in the depths of WordPress. And, without using AI, I must note strongly, I wrote the new content or copied it from words I had written previously.

So here we are, with a sparkling new website, glossy images, some ok-ish content and a nice blog structure in which I shall occasionally post my meanderings about life and writing.
